Pichhla 6 varas si, Dai al-Zaman Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS) na salgirah ni khushi maa, ilm ane taraqqi no ek fasal manāwā mā āwe chhe.
Aa waqt mā duniya bhar na hazārō Muminīn Surat, Hindustān mā jamā thāy chhe — ek shān daar ilmī barākat wāro mausem jehne “al-Istifada al-Ilmiyya” kehvā mā āwe chhe.

Al-Istifada al-Ilmiyya no maqṣad chhe ke Mumineen ilm hasil kare — je Rasulullah (SAW) taraf si har Musalmān mard ane aurat par farz thayo chhe.
Fatemi kutub mā bayān thayo chhe ke ilm hasil karwā mā mushkilāt hoy pan Mumineen ne farz chhe ke te ilm hasil kare. Ilm hasil karwā ane enā amal thi insān ne ma’nawī kamāl ane maqṣad wāli zindagī hasal thāy chhe. Aa amal “gahwārā si lehad” sudhi chaltu rahe chhe.


Fatemi Ta’leem no Itihās:
Islam na ibtedā si Musalmānō ilm ne hasil karwā mā lagā chhe. Te waqt mā Mumineen Rasulullah (SAW) ni majālis mā hāzir thīne Quran ne samjhwā, samāt karwā ane so’al jawāb karwā wāstā jamā thātā.

Rasulullah (SAW) na Ahl al-Bayt (AS) e aa sunnat ne barkarār rākhī. Mumineen, ulama ane fuqahā imāmō na dār ne masājid mā jamā thīne dīnī ilm, falsafā, fiqh vaghairah no dars letā.

Fatemi misr (Egypt) mā Friday khutba, halka majālis, ane kitab na dars, jema tafsīr, fiqh ane kalām thī taleem api jāti. 975 mā Imam al-Mu’izz (AS) e al-Azhar University ni ta’sīs kari — je āje pan duniya mā ek qadīm ane mashhūr jami’a chhe. Al-Azhar mā taleem na sāth sāth tulaba ne muft qiyām ne sukoonat apvām āve chhe.


1005hijri mā, Fatemi Imam al-Hakim (AS) e Qāhirah (Cairo) mā “Dar al-Ilm” — yani “House of Knowledge” ni ta’sīs kari.
Aa markaz ilm ne hikmat no aevā nur thi chamakyu ke duniya bhar na buzurg, hukamā, fuzalā ane ulama enā taraf khechāyā. Ane te mā history, adab, fiqh, lughat, nahw, falakiyaat (astronomy), qānūn ane tib (medicine) vāgharē ghaniyu māzāmīn par dars ane tahqeeq (research) thāy chhe.

Aa Dar al-Ilm ni ek vishāl kutubkhānō (library) hātḥ thi hazāron kitābo si bharayel hātḥ, ane Mumineen ne muminaat badhā māṭe khullī chhe.


Fatemi daur mā taleem no ek aham tareeqa “Majālis al-Hikma” hātḥ.
Aa khas majālis mā Fatemi Imam ni wālāyāt wālā as-hāb — mard ane aurat — jamā thāy ne hikmat ne samātwā wāstā hāzir rehtā.

“Majlis” lafz e evā manā rākhe chhe ke jāy-e-nishast — jema Muminīn bā-adab masjid ke dār al-imārat na farsh par beḥne chhe ane ilm hasil kare chhe. Aa shāʼistā andaaz hamesha si Fatemi rivaayat no hissa hātḥ.


Imam Mustansir (AS) taraf si maqarrar Syedna al-Muʾayyad al-Shirazi (RA) e Cairo mā har Thursday ek khas majlis anqād kartā.
Aa majālis mā Fatemi dawat na a’lā rutba wālā afrad hāzir rehtā, ane Syedna Muʾayyad (RA) enā zariye Mumineen ni rūhānī ane ilmī tarbiyat kartā.

Te majālis ni shiddat e zarf chhe ke 800 majālis ni silsila chalyo — jema har hafte Imam Mustansir (AS) taraf si mohr-dār mansūrah (approved content) moklāy ne waqf karvām āwtu, ane te majlis mā samāt thātu.


Aa 800 majālis chhe je Fatemi ilmī rivaayat ne ṣadiyō sudhi wādhārvā mā bunyādī kirdār adā kari.
Hikmat ane falsafa na mubāhisāt zariye, Fatemi aqāʼid ne falsafā par gahri bayān āpāyā. Aa majālis no kul majmū‘ “Majālis al-Muʾayyadiyya” — āṭh juzw wālo silsila — āje pan Dawoodi Bohra mumineen ane biji Ismaili jama‘āt ne wāste mohtaram ane maqbool matn chhe.


Ilm ne taleem no safar — Du‘āt na daur mā:
Syedna Muʾayyad ni je shurūwāt chhe, enī rawāni Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA) si laīne Syedna Burhanuddin (RA) ane Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS) sudhi ne daur sudhi wāṣil chhe — je ilm ne roshanī thi duniya ne nurāni banāwe chhe.

Ilm ni talab Du‘āt na daur mā


Yaman na Haraaz na pahaadon mā wāqi‘ mubārak maqām — al-Hutaib al-Mubarak — jahan 3rd Da’i al-Mutlaq Syedna Hatim (RA) 12mi sadi ni ākhri mā muqīm hatā ane Mumineen ne taleem api.

Fatemi Imāmō ni satr (seclusion) pachi, Yaman maa al-da‘i al-mutlaq no maqarr banā, ane ye maqām Mumineen wāste ilm no markaz banī gayu. Mumineen Du‘āt na khutbāt, dars, risālāt ane shi‘r zariye ilm hasil kartā — kevi ke likhit sawāl-jawāb thī pan ilm ni talab kartā.

Khubbā Mumineen Mushkil patharī wālī wādiyō, pahaado ne mushakkat si bharī raho par safar kari, Yaman mā Du‘āt si ilm hasil karvā awtā — khaaskar Hindustān si āvī Mumineen bohot mushakkat bhari musāfarī kartā.


Pachi nā daurō mā, jab Da‘wat no markaz Hindustān mā muntaqil thayo, to Mumineen ye ilm hasil karvā no silsilo barkarār rākhyo.
Du‘āt Mutlaqīn ni majālis, wa‘az, asbāq mā hazri aapi — mard ane aurat, be’e ne taleem ne samāt karvā wāste har mushkil bardāsht karī.

Kā’ī waqtō mā, jab dushmanī ane tangdastī no waqt hātḥ, to Mumineen rātri na beech mā jamā thīne asbāq mā hazir rehtā — sirf ilm ni talab ne sānjhāwā wāste.


Aa silsilo āje pan Dai al-Zaman Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS) ni imāmat mā shiddat si wāḍhe chhe — jahan ilm ne amal, taleem ne tarbiyat, har Mumin ne zindagī no asās banāy chhe.


Vīsmī sadī mā Dawoodi Bohra Mumineen ilm ne rūhānī tarbiyat ne talab mā shiddat si lagā rehā.
51st Da‘i al-Mutlaq Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA) e aevī bēmisāl himmat si kaam lidho ke ek divas mā 27 dars farāmāwā — judā-judā gurūh ne — je aksar rāti der sudhi chaltā.

Ilm ne talabgār tulabā ni vadhārti ta‘dād ne dekhīne, ane waqt ni zarūrat ne samjhi ne, Syedna (RA) e ek qadīm darasgāh ne jadīd surat mā sawārī.
Ye darasgāh — je 43rd Da‘i al-Mutlaq Syedna Abdeali Saifuddin (RA) taraf si ek sadi pehla bunyād rākhi gayi hātḥ — ne Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA) e wāsi‘ kari ne ek ālamī mi‘yār wālī taleemgāh mā tabdīl kari: Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah.

Ā jamea chhe Dawoodi Bohra community ni ilmī legacy no roshan mazhar.


Aaje hazāron Dawoodi Bohra Mumineen Ashara Mubāraka na wa‘az samāt karwā wāste jamā thāy chhe, dars mā shurakāt kar chhe ane Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah na sālnā imtiḥān (examinations) mā pan hissa le chhe.
Aa sab ilmī tajribo chhe je har tabqā nā Mumineen ne shāmil kare chhe.

Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS) farmāw chhe:
"Education insān par wājoob wajebāt mā si ek chhe, ane jītni mehnat eni talab mā kariye, te kāfī kahī na sake."
Maula (TUS) bayān farmāw chhe ke taleem no asal maqsad chhe — dīger insān ne naf‘ aapvō.


Al-Istifada al-Ilmiyya
2017 si shurū thāyel, al-Istifada al-Ilmiyya āje ek sālnā ilmī majlis banī chuki chhe — je mā duniya bhar si Mumineen ni wāsi jamā‘at shurakāt kare chhe.

Aa no āyojan Surat, Hindustān mā wāqi‘ Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah — community ni ā’lā darajānī taleemgāh — mā hazrat Dai al-Zaman Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS) ni sarparastī mā thāy chhe.

Al-Istifada, Dawoodi Bohra ni rivaayati taleemī nizaam nu roshan mazhar chhe.
Jare Mumineen saāl bhar masājid ane community centres mā dars letā hoy, al-Istifada na dinō mā tevo faqat ilm ne nafsī taraqqī ne liye wakf kare chhe.


Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah na tulabā, asātiza, ane sābiq tulabā (alumni), saath-e-saath community na muqarrar afraad — kevi ke asātiza, administrators, ane amil sāhebān — duniya bhar si safar kari ne al-Istifada mā shurakāt karwā āve chhe.
Tevo nefaqat ilm mā taraqqī kare chhe, par unā professional ane interpersonal skills pan wadhāre chhe.

Al-Istifada na attendees mā har umr ane har background wālā Bohra mard ane aurat shāmil chhe — ghana aevā chhe je jāmi‘ taleem hasil kari chhuki chhe, ane safal professionals, teachers, businesspeople, ane gharelu manager chhe.


Fatemi falsafat ni rooh ke mutābiq, aa taleem sirf kitābī na hoy — pan ek mukammal (holistic) tajribo chhe.
Je mā life-skills seminars, health checkups, sports, ane anek ilmī ane fun-filled event shāmil chhe.

Aa week-long programme no markazi pehlu chhe: rozānā ni asbaaq ni classes.
Jemā Mumineen ne unā ilmī martaba mutābiq wādhi vāḍhi groups mā tafrīq karine dars āpvām āwe chhe.

Aa dars sabāh si neṣf an-nahār (morning to midday) sudhi chaley chhe — chhāne ane ghālhā mā wīsām sāth.

Har group, Fatemi aqāʼid, falsafa, ane Quran na tafsīr wālā mukhtalif matn (texts) ne samāt ane mutāla‘a kare chhe — je ilm ne samjhwā mā gahraī ane tafsīl aap chhe.


Sanji ne sānjh—ane ghani vār rātrī pan—Aljamea na maidan par Mumineen sports ane exercise mā shurakāt kare chhe.
Dopahar na waqt mā mard ane aurat wāste khas seminars ne programmes rakhvā mā āwe chhe — je unā maqām ne zarūrat mutābiq tayyār karyā chhe.

Aa seminars mā khudd-sāzi (self-improvement) ane idārī (administrative) skills jīvī ke:
communication, teaching methods, organisation ane management vāgherē mā dars āpvām āwe chhe.


Al-Istifada no ākhar hātḥ chhe Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA) ni milād mubārak no roz — je din Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS) ni wa‘az sharīf thāy chhe.
Aje ke wa‘az mā dason hazār Mumineen mohabbat si hazri āpe chhe.


Al-Istifada al-Ilmiyya chhe ek roshan mazhar:
Fatemi taleemī nizaam ni izzat, rivaayat ni pasandīdgi, ane jadīd zamāna si mānf’at lāwāni hikmat ni jhalak.

Dawoodi Bohra Mumineen hamesha si ilm ne samātnā wālā chhe.
Uno ‘aqīdo chhe ke:
“Ilm ne hasil karwā no safar, zindagī bhar chaltō chhe — jema dīmāġ ane rūh ne tarbiyat malti rahe, ane har waqt insān ne dīger insān ne naf‘ aapvā wāstā mehnat karvī joiye.”

Istefada Ilmiyah Behind The Scenes

 

ISTEFADA ILMIYAH: BEHIND THE SCENES
1) How did the concept of Istefada Ilmiyah develop to what it is today?

Ans: The concept of Istefada Ilmiyah has developed over the years directly as per the directives of Aqa Moula TUS. It all started in the year 1438 in Surat, when Shz Husain Bs Burhanuddin DM instructed, that it was Aqa Moula’s khushi that asbaaq be organized for the khidmatguzar of Dawat. The event later took place as Istefada Ilmiyah, in which Umaal Kiraam came from all over the world to participate in seeking knowledge once again under the cool shade of Aljamea tus Saifiyah.
It was Aqa Moula’s TUS khushi that even Mumineen participate in these asbaaq. Thus asbaaq were held for Mumineen that year in the last two days before Milaad.

More than 5000 Mumineen had attended Istefada Ilmiyah that year.
With the Dua Mubarak of Aqa Moula TUS,  thousands of Mumineen take part in this occasion.

2) How are the venues of Istefada Ilmiyah prepared?

Ans: Every year in the city of Surat, there is an increasing number of Mumineen who participate in this event and so venues are allotted a specific amount of people as per their capacity. Initially, asbaaq were only held in Aljamea tus Saifiyah, but over the years the venues expanded to cover Begumwaari, Khaimat al-Riyazat and the surrounding Masajid in the vicinity. Approximately 20,000+ & 25,000+ Mumineen were present in 1444 & 1445 respectively during Phase 2 to partake in the barakaat of Istefada Ilmiyah. To accommodate this number, a total of 53 sites had been allocated for this occasion out of which a few Masajid had also been converted into venues including Rehmatpura and Gopipura, whereas the grounds outside of Cotton Mills were used as venues for the first time ever. We have  also tried that niyaaz be made available at maximum venues to make it easier for Mumineen.

3) How many organizers were involved in the management of such multiple venues?

Ans: Until now, we had a core organizing team consisting of 3-4 members who would altogether troubleshoot and handle all managerial aspects. However, considering the size and scope of the event that Istefada Ilmiyah has developed into, we have organized several teams to manage this event. This year, the venues were divided into 12 main zones and each zone was captained by a member of Kothar Mubarak along with a coordinator from Toloba. Likewise each venue had its dedicated IT team as well as members from BGI, FMB (to serve refreshments) as well as Umoor al-Sehhat.
These khidmatguzaro work continuously both on field and out to ensure the best possible experience for Istefada in all phases.


4) How is the halqa system managed?

Ans: Halqas or groups are created on the basis of the hadd of each Mumin. Our team studies the data of every registree and assigns them a group as per the kutub that they have studied from in the past. Simultaneously, lists of proposed teachers for each group are presented in Hazrat Aaliyah with their photographs. Teachers are finalized as per the raza of Aqa Moula TUS.


5) What is the main concern for khidmatguzaro organizing the event?

Ans: Over the years, Istefada Ilmiyah has developed into an event almost as big as Ashara Mubaraka & Shehrullah al-Moazzam in scope. It is always our foremost concern that we manage to cater to the comforts of every Mumin, so that they can devote their time and efforts to the seeking of knowledge.

🤝The way Istefada Ilmiyah is being conducted today would not have been possible without the guidance and dua of Aqa Moula TUS! May Allah grant him a long and healthy life! Ameen.

The Qaseeda Khairul Anaam

 The Qaseeda Khairul Anaam

This elegiac qaseeda was written by Ali b. Hammād, in which he laments the martyrdom of Imam Husain AS and the cruelty and oppression he and the Ahl al-Bayt AS faced in Karbala.

It has long been a custom during the ʿAshara Mubaraka sermons for this qaseeda to be recited by Mumineen prior to the commencement of waʿz.

وَالْبَرَّةُ الزَّهْرَاءُ وَالْحَسَنَان*خَيْرُ الْأَنَامِ مُحَمَّدٌ وَوَصِيُّه

The most beneficent of all people are the Prophet Mohammed SAW, his legatee, Maulana Ali SA,

the righteous, Fatima al-Zahra SA and the two Imams, Hasan AS and Husain AS.

هُدِيَ الْوَرَى مِنْ حَيْرَةِ الطُّغْيَان*قَوْمٌ بِهِمْ كُشِفَ الْعَمَى وَبِهَدْيِهِمْ

They are the people thanks to whom a state of blindness (ignorance) was alleviated, and due to whose counsel

mankind was guided away from the disorientation of tyranny.

وَبِهِمْ يُنَادَى وَقْتَ كُلِّ أَذَان*مَنْ لَا تَتِمُّ صَلَاتُنَا إلاَّ بِهِمْ

Without them our salat would be incomplete,

and it is their names that are called out in every azan.

وَالمُوْضِحُوْنَ شَرَائِعَ الْأِيْمَان*خُزَّانُ عِلْمِ اللهِ مَهْبَطُ وَحْيِه

They are the treasurers of Allah’s knowledge, the place of Allah’s revelation,

and the explainers of the tenets of faith.

وَهَوَى مُخَالِفُه إِلَى الْخُسْرَان*حَبْلُ الْإِلهِ فَمَنْ تَعَلَّقَه نَجَا

They are the rope of Allah; whosoever holds firmly to them will be rescued,

while their detractor will fall to ruin.

سُفُنُ النَّجَاةِ دَعَائِمُ الْإِيْمَان*أَعْلَامُ دِيْنِ اللهِ أَرْكَانُ الْهُدَى

They are the beacons of Allah’s religion, the cornerstones of guidance,

the ships of salvation and the pillars of faith.

كَرْبِي وَأَذْكَتْ فِي الْحَشَا أَحْزَانِي*وَلَقَدْ وَقَفْتُ بِكَرْبَلَاءَ فَجَدَّدَتْ

Indeed while I stood in Karbala, it awoke

my anguish and set ablaze my sorrows inside me.

مَوْلَايَ وَا أَسَفَا عَلَى الْعَطْشَان*وَذَكَرْتُ فِي عَاشُوْرَا مَصْرَعَ سَيِّدِيْ

And on the day of ʿAshura I recalled the martyrdom of my lord,

my Maula Husain AS; woe upon the thirsty, Imam Husain AS!

بِدَمٍ وَدَمْعٍ دَائِمِ التَّهْتَان * وَلَأَبْكِيَنَّ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ وَصَحْبِه
And I shall surely grieve over Imam Husain AS and his companions,

by shedding blood and tears that pour forth endlessly!

بِالطَّفِّ فَرْدًا نَازِحَ الْأَوْطَان * وَلَأَبْكِيَنَّ عَلَى غَرِيْبِ مُحَمَّدٍ
And I shall lament emphatically over the grandson of the Prophet Mohammed SAW,

a stranger in Karbala, alone and far from his homeland!

عُرْيَانَ مَطْرُوْحًا بِلَا أَكْفَان * وَلَأَبْكِيَنَّ عَلَى الْقَتِيْلِ بِكَرْبَلَا
And I shall cry endlessly for the martyred in Karbala,

left uncovered and abandoned without shrouds!

مَسْبِيَّةً بِالظُّلْمِ وَالْعُدْوَان * وَلَأَبْكِيَنَّ عَلَى بَنَاتِ مُحَمَّدٍ
And I shall weep without fail for the daughters of the Prophet Mohammed SAW,

made captive by oppression and tyranny!

فِي الْحَشْرِ عِنْدَ الْوَاحِدِ الْمَنَّان * مَا عُذْرُ قَاتِلِ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ
What excuse does the slaughterer of the Prophet Mohammed SAW’s Ahl al-Bayt AS have

before the Almighty One and The Benefactor on the Day of Resurrection?

لكِنْ لَهُمْ يَوْمٌ عَظِيْمُ الشَّأْن * مَا اللهُ عَنْ ظُلْمِ الْعِبَادِ بِغَافِلٍ
Allah is not unaware of mankind’s oppression.

Nay, a day of profound consequence, the Day of Judgement, is in store for them.

مَا غَرَّدَ الْقُمْرِيُّ فِي الْأَغْصَان * صَلَّى الْإِلهُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ وَآلِه
May Allah bless the Prophet Mohammed SAW and his progeny,

for as long as the turtle dove sings in the branches of trees.
